Accounting is divided into numerous fields, which include financial accounting, management accounting, external auditing, internal auditing, tax accounting, and cost accounting.

Associate & Bachelor's degrees

This program is designed to provide the graduate with the strong conceptual knowledge, practical accounting training, and business knowledge necessary as a foundation to pursue a career in the field of accounting. For those students pursuing the Associate of Science degree, the program is designed to provide the graduate with the necessary knowledge to obtain immediate employment in the area of financial or cost accounting. For those students pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree, the program is designed to provide the graduate with the knowledge needed to not only obtain immediate employment in any area of accounting, including financial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, and accounting information systems but also to prepare the graduate to succeed in passing certification exams relating to the accounting profession.

新皇冠体育盘口Those students who are planning to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examination may do so with the Bachelor of Science degree. They may actually take the CMA exam while they are completing their degree.

Although each state has different requirements to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and be licensed as a CPA, those students who are planning to take the examination in Florida and be licensed in the State of Florida may take the (CPA) exam upon completion of a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting and a minimum of 120 semester hours.

Master's in Business Administration with an option in Accounting

新皇冠体育盘口Webber International University currently offers an MBA with an option in Accounting to meet the educational requirements of sitting for the CPA examination in Florida. Specifically, the student must complete the following credits (at a minimum) to qualify for licensing as a Florida CPA:

  • 36-semester credits in accounting beyond undergraduate accounting courses, including at least courses that cover financial accounting, cost accounting, accounting information systems, auditing, and taxation.
  • 39-semester credits in general business courses, including at least three credits of business law; and 18 credits in classes at the junior (300) level or higher.
